My favorite time of year is here, and I couldn’t be more excited. Ah, the thrill… when the first pitch is thrown out, the crowd roars, the team scores, the beer pours, and the tailgate galores, you know Baseball Season is in season, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Now I love shelves and just about everything related to shelves and shelf-inclusive experiences, and I love The Baseball — so buster, when I get the chance to mix the two, I am taking it for everything it is worth, and that is worth everything. Imagine me, a humble shelf and baseball fan, coming to terms with the fact that this exists: the Baseball Mitt Shelf from Stacks and Stacks. Is it the perfect mix of Shelves and Baseball? Yes, yes it is. Is it something that includes equal helpings of macho sports and powerful design? Yes, yes it does. Will it look great in my recreation room, the room with my sports-ready 58 inch front-projection screen (jelly?), and mini-fridge, and autographed Dick Butkus photo? You bet it will. This Baseball Mitt Shelf is gonna hit a home run.

This Baseball Mitt Shelf is just amazing! A pitch-perfect way to celebrate my love for baseball and my love of shelves, all at once! What will I display on these shelves? So many options. I have balls signed by the great Robert Forster of the Kansas City Tornadoes and Will Brimley of the Alabama Bam Bams. I have the ticket stub to Wrigleys Fields, way back in 1966, when my dad took me to see Micky Mantel crack one over the fence — which might be my favorite memory in life, second only to the time I met Kathy Ireland. Baseball is so great, so American, so fun, so amazing, and all of those things can be said about shelves as well. A man becomes preeminent, he’s expected to have enthusiasms. Enthusiasms, enthusiasms… What are mine? What draws my admiration? What is that which gives me joy? Baseball! A man stands alone at the plate. This is the time for what? For individual achievement. There he stands alone. But in the field, what? Part of a team. Teamwork… Looks, throws, catches, hustles. Part of one big team. Bats himself the live-long day, Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, and so on. If his team don’t field… what is he? You follow me? No one. Sunny day, the stands are full of fans. What does he have to say? I’m goin’ out there for myself. But… I get nowhere unless the team wins. Baseball!

Wow, just look at that perfectly ROUND bookshelf! Devastatingly awesome, in both design and execution. Trust me, when I saw it in the German Shelving Magazine “Kazlooster-Shalven”, I had to have it all any price. Unfortunately it’s not yet available, as the design has yet to share the plans with his investors. You know the story: genius inventor, blah-blah, can’t handle “reality”, flies too close to the sun, yadda and such as. Who cares about this German fellows mental state, I just want to be able to purchase his creation. Ah, well. in the meantime, let me tell you about the Bookshelf - 2 Shelf from Stacks and Stacks. Convenience is the name of the game. And really, now that I reflect on it, Convenience is at the heart of all shelves.
